“Villa dei Cedri”’s Thermal-Mineral Water originates in large amounts from 2 deep subterranean water-bearing strata (160 and 200 meters depth) at a temperature of 37° and 42° C. It must, therefore, be considered thermal mineral water.
In its subterranean travel to the surface it passes through overlying layers of gravel and clay of varying thickness. Its transit through these strata effectively constitutes a natural selective purification filter whereby all harmful impurities are eliminated, leaving the biological properties of the water intact. When it comes to the surface, the water is crystal-clear, odourless, colourless and microbiologically pure.
Villa dei Cedri’s Thermal-Mineral Water is defined as mineral water with high bicarbonate, calcium, and magnesium contents, and a significant level of silicon. It is an alkaline water
with a pH of 7.8 and has anti inflammatory benefits.
The average temperature of the water is maintained all year around at about 33° C for health and wellbeing purposes, in the jacuzzis in the lakes temperature is kept between 37° and 39° C. In the main lake and in the swimming pool the temperature of the thermal mineral water is set at approximately at 33° C and in the special pools (old tubs) temperature reaches 37°/39° C. In the second lake the water temperature is around 29°-30°in order to differentiate the bathing offer.
Therapeutic properties of the mineral water: Villa dei Cedri Thermal Water is particularly indicated in rehabilitation, physiotherapy, as well as for skin diseases, not-acute diseases of the musculoskeletal system, peripheral vascular diseases and especially for veins and lymphatic disorders (Authorisation by the MInistry of Health 1996 and 1998)
Issued to be recognised as “Poliambulatorio con ambulatorio specialistico e ambulatorio di medicina fisica, riabilitazione, recupero e rieducazione funzionale” (Health Centre with Specialist and Rehabilitation Clinic for functional rehabilitation and re-education – (AUTHORISATION by the Ministry of Health 2015)
“Villa dei Cedri” mineral water can be used for balneotherapy and also as beverage.
Mineral water is usually classified:
The water comes to the surface at a higher temperature than all other Italian mineral waters, that are generally cold (from 5 to 18°C).
Such very light water with only a limited fixed residue is hard to find in thermal and hyper thermal waters, which are usually bromo-iodo-saline or sulphurous waters, and are therefore difficult to drink.
